Beginning Stained Glass – Leading

In our beginner course you will be introduced to stained glass, taught about the tools involved, choosing glass, how to cut glass and the different methods of building stained glass windows. You will complete a leaded glass window to enjoy at home! 

Intermediate Stained Glass – Leading

In our intermediate course you will looking at more advanced techniques, as well as developing and working on your own designs. We will work on further developing your glass skills. You can bring in a piece you have been working on or start new and learn as you create!

Copper Foil Workshop

Some experience cutting glass needed.

Learn the copper foil technique of assembly. Get the pointers on your soldering. Make 2-3 small projects from our selection of patterns, or bring your own in for help to complete.

3D Workshop

This class will cover the basic foundational technique for glass painting: the tracing line and the matting process. We will explore the traditional technique centuries old and still used today to create beautiful painted windows.

In this workshop, students will learn how to mix and apply glass based pigments. We will cover the basic tools of the trade including brushes, pigments and painting mediums. Each student will take home painted pieces at the end of the day.

Intermediate Glass Painting Class

This class is for the student who already has the basic knowledge of painting on glass and would like to take it further. You will be using an air-brush and learning fine techniques. You will go home from the class with a finished fired piece.

Silver Stains and Enamels

In this day long workshop, you will learn how to use these low fire bright colors. These paints and stains, paint a little differently than the stainer paints. We will talk about their application and how to use them in conjunction with stainer paints. You will go home with painted samples and a better understanding about how they work.

Beginning Etched Glass

This class will cover the techniques in surface etching. Discussion includes design layout, different options for stencils and introduction to sandblasting equipment. You will take home a completed etched project. Designs and all materials included.

Advanced Glass Carving

This class covers the techniques in multi-level sand blasting. Discussion includes the techniques in designs, layout and materials needed. You will be hands on in our small sandblast cabinet, and will take home you own sand carved project. All materials included.

Beginning Glass Fusing

 Instructor: Ruth Wood

Ruth will go over the very basics of fusing glass. She will go over the programs needed for the 90 and 96 coe glass. You will create a fused glass tile piece. This introduction will get your feet wet and let you know if warm glass will become your next passion! This class will also get you ready to absorb all the information in the more advanced classes for a very reasonable cost.

Slumping * Draping * Mold Making

Find out how to bend and curve your fused glass pieces without cracking, bubbles or creases. Learn several techniques for making slumping molds from using fiber paper for simple shapes and fiber mold maker for more advanced, intricate work. In this fabulous 2 part course you will learn about pattern bars – how to make them, shape them, fire them and use them. In this fabulous 2 part course you will learn about pattern bars – how to make them, shape them, fire them and use them. In this class you will explore using other mediums within the fusing process to create unique effects. Fun AND informative!Beginning fusing is a prerequisite.

Jewelry Making – Fused Dichroic

In this fun class, you will learn the fundamentals and techniques of making fused glass jewelry. No experience is necessary. We will cover glass choices, preparation for fusing, how to use a kiln, safety, firing programs, and more. Students will be working with dichroic glass pieces, to make their own designed pieces to be fired. Learn application techniques using fusing paper, copper inclusions, and etching designs in dichroic glass. We will do some things like drilling, sawing, polishing, layering for depth and texture and lots of other exciting stuff! All materials and glass are included. Pick up of your fused pieces will be arranged the following week.

Mosaic Class

Instructor: Catherine Gamble or Srira Zadmehran

Have you been wanting to learn Mosaic’s? Well this is the class. You will learn the fundamentals of how to design a project, cutting glass tiles, proper use of the tools and grouting your project. You will also learn which adhesives are best for inside & outside projects. Discussions on different types of adhesives, grouting and glass on glass design. How to mosaic bottles, wood items and just about anything you can get your hands on will be discussed.

Class Info

  1. Project: your design on a 6 X 6 ” ceramic tile.
  2. Bring or have: SIMPLE idea or picture of what you might want to do.

Keep in Mind: This process is being condensed into 4 – 5 hours and is a beginners’ class, so don’t expect to do a masterpiece this first time!

3. No set time: class ends when we are done, but usually by 2 or 3:00 pm.

  4. The process:

  • Decide on a design
  • Trace or draw it on tile (optional)
  • Choose colors of glass
  • Learn how to cut glass using several techniques and tools
  • Cut glass pieces for design and glue them onto the tile

  • Grout and polish

Annual Holiday Craft Class

The first Saturday of Dec

All instructors are on hand to give you holiday craft ideas. Painted glass ornaments, etched glass, fused glass, mosaic and copper foil crafts. Each year we come up with different ideas for your holiday gifts. This is a favorite event for many return customers. Come join the fun!
